What you can expect

The process may look a bit different depending on whether or not we’ve worked together before, how we got connected, and so on.

But generally speaking, if it’s our first time working together, here’s what you can expect…

1. Details, details.

You take ~5 minutes to share key info about your project. Once you submit it, I get back to you within 24 business hours to let you know if I’m a fit.

(That way you’re not wasting your time in another meeting.)

If I’m a fit, I’ll send you a Calendly link so we can schedule a quick time to chat in person.

And if I’m not, I’ll happily refer you to someone who may be a good fit.

2. Intro Call

Just two humans, chatting.

We have a 15-20 minute chat to discuss more details about your goals and challenges, your team and processes, and finalize what’s going into the proposal and contract.

3. “Paperwork” and 50% Up Front

Keeps away the ghosts.

Documents and rates and NDAs, oh yay.

If our chat goes well and we decide to proceed together, I draft a proposal and a quote based on what we discussed, and send it to you for review.

Once you accept the proposal, we sign contracts, NDAs, and any other relevant documents.

Then, I send you an invoice for 50% of the initial project fee.

4. Kick Off, Baby

Once we get the 50% invoice taken care of, we schedule a kick off call with the relevant team members.

I have 10-30 detailed questions I ask clients before getting to work. I will probably ask you for customer call notes, brand style and tone guides, and/or Google Analytics or social media data relevant to the project (when applicable). I may also ask you to refer me to top customers for short interviews about their experience with your brand.

5. Research & Writing

I research, brainstorm, layout, and write copy and submit deliverables to you by the agreed upon deadline.

6. Fine Tuning

I make any necessary revisions and edits per your request. Most clients don’t need more than 1 or 2 rounds of edits.

7. 50% Out Back

Once you're happy with changes, I send you an invoice for the remaining 50% of the project.

And if we’ve agreed to a particular partnership tier, we settle into a nice monthly invoice/payment cadence.

8. How Did I Do?

Be honest, I got thick skin.

I like to ask for honest feedback about your experience with me and/or a testimonial. Both help me improve and grow my business, so thank you in advance!
